Every time I go and see a new stage show, exhibition or film I always hope it will be emotionally moving as well as entertaining. I went to see 'Everybody's Talking About Jamie' recently and I'm pleased to say the stage show did exactly that.
Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a modern West End musical. It's relevant, fresh, uplifting and inspiring. The story is full of light and shade, making you feel like anything is possible in life, if you can just be brave and bold enough to be you. It highlights the importance of embracing your identity and living your dreams. No matter how difficult it may be or what prejudices you could face in life.
British actress, writer and dancer Shobna Gulati (plays Ray) is one of the talented stars in this show.
Shobna is a world class performer who always delivers and of course I love her Northern charm. If you've not seen her in a live performance yet, book your tickets to see her last few stage appearances before Saturday 27th January 2018. It was great to catch up with her after the post-show.
This production is truly diverse with its cast of young and seasoned actors, who all put on a brilliantly entertaining and emotionally moving theatre show which appeals to anyone - young and old. It's a story about coming of age, the struggles of a single mother and about finding where you belong in the world. John McCrea does a thoroughly fantastic job playing Jamie as does Lee Ross as professional drag queen 'Loco Chanel'.
Great to see working class stories brought to life with such high production values. Very well done to the entire creative team and the brilliant cast who entertain audiences night after night with high energy and seamless musical numbers.
I highly recommend you go and see Shobna in this show before Saturday 27th January 2019.
After this, she moves on to Shakespeare's Globe new production, Richard II, opening 22 February 2019.
